Maddy Westbeld is continuing her stylish streak, and we’re loving the trendy, summery vibes of her latest corpcore tunnel look.

The Chicago Sky forward arrived at Wintrust Arena on June 17 for the Commissioner’s Cup game against the Washington Mystics in a crisp, minimalist white tank paired with navy pinstripe Bermuda shorts. She cinched the high-waisted bottoms with a glimmering gold chain belt and added a bold splash of color with cherry red patent leather pumps. The scoop-neck tank and tailored shorts gave off a cool, corporate-chic vibe, while the vibrant shoes elevated the look into statement territory.

Though Westbeld is only a few months into her WNBA journey, after being the No.16 overall pick at the draft in March, her fashion sense is already drawing attention, something she credits, in part, to the women around her.

“Not necessarily that you have to have an all-female coaching staff to be fashionable by any means,” the 23-year-old shared earlier this year. “But having [so many] female role models walk around, you feel empowered.”

During her time at Notre Dame, Westbeld found inspiration in both her teammates and coaches. That culture of self-expression extended beyond the sidelines. Notre Dame alumni like Skylar Diggins-Smith and Arike Ogunbowale are known not only for their on-court dominance but also their style influence. Diggins-Smith, who is an SI Swimsuit model, was named League Fits MVP in both 2022 and 2024.

“You can be beautiful, you can be a hooper, you can be competitive, you can be everything,” the Ohio native continued. “All of the double standards that we’re held to—you can challenge all of it.”

After undergoing surgery late in her NCAA season, Westbeld turned to fashion as a way to stay connected to both the game and herself. “During my rehab, it was something I did just to feel good every day,” she recalled. “I like to be in top shape to prepare for trying to play in top shape.”

While sidelined, she was initially hesitant to ask if she could ditch the standard team-issued travel suit or university-branded sweats in favor of a styled look for games. Tunnel fashion isn’t common in college sports the way it is in the big leagues, but Westbeld was eager to express herself.

To her surprise, Notre Dame head coach Niele Ivey approved it without hesitation. “Feel good, look good, play good” was a mantra they both agreed on.
